Reflections

Ok, a guy named Milton Glaser (a designer of some sort) presented a speech titled "10 Things I have Learned" at the AIGA Voice Conference in 2002. It's ten life lessons learned, and even though I don't know who he is, he sure bummed me out. :)

Well, what are you waiting for? Join me in my bumedness.

There are too many points in there that give cause to pause and reflect, and since I agree a whole bunch, but my current life path doesn't follow many of them, I opened a beer instead..

At the Bus Stop...

In a crowded city at a crowded bus stop a beautiful young woman was waiting for the bus. She was decked out in a tight leather mini skirt with matching tight leather boots and jacket.

As the bus rolled up and it became her turn to get on the bus she became aware that her skirt was too tight to allow her leg to come up to the height of the bus' first step. So slightly embarrassed and with a quick smile to the bus driver she reached behind her and unzipped her skirt a little thinking that this would give her enough slack to raise her leg.

So this Fridge Walks into a Guy.....

Three men stand before St. Peter awaiting admission into Heaven. However, St. Peter has been informed that Heaven will only admit 33% of applicants today.

The admissions standard: Who died the worst death? So St. Peter takes each of the three men aside in turn and asks them about how they died.

Ahh, that Explains it.. Hes from LA....

Ok, now let's say that I'm from a tropical part of the world (say California), and I had the urge to sneak into canada over land, wouldn't you think that I'd know that it gets cold up here, this time of year? I mean, either wait till spring, or at very least, check the damn weather channel first..

I mean, the guy was in Manitoba wearing gloves for petes sake... While better than nothing, gloves in Manitoba in winter?

Lucky Frog..

A man takes the day off work and decides to go out golfing. He is on the second hole when he notices a frog sitting next to the green. He thinks nothing of it and is about to shoot when he hears "Ribbit, 9 Iron."

The man looks around and doesn't see anyone. "Ribbit, 9 Iron." He looks at the frog and decides to prove the frog wrong, puts his other club away and grabs a 9 iron. Boom!, he hits the ball 10 inches from the cup.

He is shocked. He says to the frog, "Wow, that's amazing. You must be a lucky frog, eh?" The frog replies, "Ribbit, Lucky frog."

FCC Fines?

Heh..

From a Rolling Stone article on the "new" FCC fines.

Gizoogle...

Rogers Caps Internet Bandwidth - again...

Well, I'm sure some of you will remember my experience with their first foray into "Hidden" bandwith caps, and more here. This is prior to their extreme service, and the like.

*Sigh*

The title says it all.. Ahh, how society has changed.. *sigh*

Only Digital Photogs Care..

BTW, capture 1 rocks. I've been using breezebrowser for raw conversion, but then I went checking into other options, as I hated staring at it waiting for it to finish. One at a time.

So then I tried bibble. It retails for like $99 or the like. It wasn't bad, but while it was better than breezebrowser's conversion, it still was lacking, and the "batch processing" that it used annoyed the hell out of me.
